OKHOTSK TOKKARI CENTER
The Okhotsk Tokkari Center is Japan's only seal conservation center, which specializes in protecting seals. Mombetsu's mascot is a seal, which I find quite delightful. The journey to the Tokkari Center is even referred to as a "Sacred Seal Pilgramage." Keepers there are dedicated to taking care of the seals, and are often praised in Japan for speaking to the seals in a very endearing way, as a kindergarten teacher might speak to their student. The main portion of the Okhotsk Tokkari Center houses the majority of the seals, whereas the extension "Seal Sea Paradise" has the widely known trio of Agu, Hiyori, and Kyoro.

Want to learn all about every seal in this center? Tap here for a special introduction page! All names are written in japanese script, but you can use google translate camera to translate them.

Note: I have no affiliation with the Okhotsk Tokkari Center or any other aquariums listed here.
